The Daily Mirror was the original rock and roll newspaper and that position has been cemented yet again with the news that The Rolling Stones: 50, a book the band collaborated with Mirrorpix on, has been nominated for Best Book at next month's NME awards. The legendary rockers have been nominated in four categories in total, with nods for 'Best Live Band,' 'Best Book', 'Music Moment of The Year' and 'Best Music Film'' for the documentary Crossfire Hurricane, which also prominently featured photographs from the Mirrorpix archives. The book was released on 12 July 2012, exactly 50 years since the band's first public appearance, at the Marquee Club on Oxford Street, central London. Included in the title are archive photos from the Daily Mirror, Sunday Mirror and The People. Twitter: @Mirrorpix
